Contracts and Procurement

Lovejoy Independent School District strives to implement best practices in the area of purchasing.  Lovejoy ISD has been the recipient of the Texas Association of School Business Officials Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations for nine (9) consecutive years.

These operations include receiving bids in response to Lovejoy ISD invitations and requests for proposals. For the 2019-2020 school year, Lovejoy ISD awarded a budget of $37,217,421 to spend across all types of contracts combined. Total expenditures for the year resulted in $5,178 spent per student.

These purchases were made through 99 current contracts awarded by Lovejoy ISD, as well as hundreds of contracts available to Lovejoy ISD through interlocal and cooperative purchasing sources. The buying power of cooperative purchasing helped realize savings on the numerous PPE items required. Three (3) publicly posted opportunities were advertised by Lovejoy ISD during the 2019-2020 fiscal year. This was down from 9 the prior year due to closures.
