Michele has been in education for over 21 years and has taught all levels of English in grades 7-12, with the majority of her time working with sophomores. She attended the University of Texas at Dallas, where she earned a B.A. in Literary Studies. Michele received her Master of Education in Educational Technology and Leadership from Lamar University. She is certified in EC-6 Core subjects with Science of Teaching Reading, 6-12 English, and EC-12 English as a Second Language. She holds a Texas principal certification in addition to her Reading Language Arts teaching credentials. 

She has 2 beautiful and smart daughters: Morgan (23) and Meghan (26), both Lovejoy High School and University of Texas- Austin alumni. She and her husband, George, are now empty nesters who love to spend their time with their perfect dog at their lakehouse.

Michele’s personal mission is to provide continuous support to teachers to ensure that students have daily opportunities to listen, speak, read, write, and think with choice in their reading and options for authentic writing that will prepare them for the future.
