Lovejoy ISD’s Music Education Program Receives Repeat National Recognition

Lovejoy ISD has been honored for the second consecutive year with the “Best Communities for Music Education” designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.

The “Best Communities for Music Education” designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

“This award recognizes the hard work by the Board of Trustees, administrators, teachers, parents, and community and their continued support in providing programs of excellence for our Lovejoy students,” states Dr. Dennis Womack, Interim Superintendent. “We appreciate the NAMM Foundation for recognizing our music program and our district’s commitment to ensuring our students with opportunities beyond the classroom to excel.”

Lovejoy ISD is one of approximately 686 school districts nationwide to be recognized.

“This accolade is an incredible honor recognizing the vision, dedication, and commitment that each of our music educators pours into their students, programs, and ensembles.  I am so proud of this acknowledgment for our district and our community.”, states Dr. Fela Mathy, Director of Fine Arts.

The NAMM Foundation is a nonprofit supported in part by the National Association of Music Merchants and its approximately 10,400 members around the world. The foundation advances active participation in music-making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving, and public service programs.
