Executive Director of Communications
Dr. Laurie Vondersaar joined Lovejoy Independent School District in November of 2019 and currently serves as the Executive Director of Communications. Dr. Vondersaar is responsible for strategic planning and communication, marketing, public relations, social media, and sharing the incredible stories for Lovejoy ISD.
With over two decades of experience, Dr. Vondersaar has served in various roles within education. Joining Lovejoy ISD from Leander, where Dr. Vondersaar served as the Chief Technology Officer, Laurie led several initiatives, including expanding a 1:1 technology program, leading the district through a national data security certification, overseeing a $38.M bond program, and building strong cross-functional relationships to foster student success. Laurie served as a part of the Teaching, Leading, and Learning team, which helped facilitate professional and leadership development and focused on high-quality teaching and learning while deepening culture and vision district-wide.
Dr. Vondersaar has developed and led various departments throughout her twenty years and is proud of having served in leadership roles in Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Professional Development, Federal Programs, Education Foundation, and Library and Instructional Technology in fast-growth districts.
Dr. Vondersaar began her career as a classroom teacher in Lewisville ISD. She received her Bachelor's and Master's Degree from the University of North Texas and graduated with her Doctorate in Educational Administration from Concordia University, Texas.
Dr. Vondersaar and her family reside in the Lovejoy ISD community. She and her husband John have been married for 22 years and have two amazing children, Addison (14) and Jackson (12), who are proud Lovejoy Leopards!
