Media Guidelines

Lovejoy ISD works cooperatively with the news media for coverage of issues and events involving the District, its students, or staff. However, LISD is dedicated to providing students with a safe learning environment without unnecessary interruptions.

The following guidelines are in effect at all LISD facilities:

  • All media inquiries should be directed to Anna Koenig, Executive Director of Human Resources and Communications [email protected]
  • Ms. Koenig will work with the Superintendent and campus principals or building supervisors to determine the District's response to each media request.
  • News reporters or photographers will not be allowed inside the facility unless the appropriate staff members have been notified, and it is determined that such a visit will not be disruptive to the learning environment.
  • Reporters or photographers are required to check in to the school office before beginning an authorized interview on campus.
  • The media may take photographs and video at the discretion of the campus administrator/communications department and only if the classroom teacher and/or appropriate staff member(s) have been notified and have agreed that it will not be disruptive to the learning environment. Taking of photographs, audio, or video is at the discretion of the appropriate designee.
  • Lovejoy ISD strictly enforces and follows student privacy preferences and release of student information as outlines in FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) guidelines.
