K-4 Standards-Based Reporting Documents

The Lovejoy Independent School District utilizes a standards-based report card in Kindergarten to Grade 4.  The standards, based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills/TEKS, describe what a student should know and be able to do at each grade level in all subjects.  Behavior and work habits that support learning are also reported, but this performance is reported separate from academic performance.
The purpose of the report card is to communicate with parents and students about the mastery of knowledge and skills and the behaviors and work habits that contribute to academic performance.  The standards-based report card is designed to give parents, teachers, and students a clear picture of academic strengths and areas for improvement.
