Executive Director of Human Resources & Communications
Focus Areas: Strategic Planning and Implementation of Lovejoy Human Resources Programs, Policies, and Initiatives; District Communications Liaison.
Background: Kevin began his career in education in 2001 as a History Teacher and Coach. He joined Lovejoy ISD in 2007 and served as the Assistant Principal at Puster, Sloan Creek Intermediate School, and Willow Springs Middle School before being named Principal of Puster Elementary School in 2015. Most recently Kevin served as Principal of Willow Springs Middle School in 2020 & 2021. Kevin has a deep understanding of Lovejoy's legacy, as well as, significant leadership experience throughout the district serving our students, staff, and community. Kevin received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Texas and his Masters of Science from Texas A&M Commerce. Family is at the top of Kevin's priorities outside of work with sports as a close second.
Marcy R. Hambrick, Ph.D.
Director of Human Resources
Focus Areas: Management of Human Resources Programs, Policies, and Practices, including Recruitment & Retention, Compensation, Benefits, Employment Contracts, Performance Appraisals, Unemployment, HR Documentation, Employment Law, and Board Policy.
Background: Marcy is in her 13th year in public education and has served as a Teacher, Campus Administrator, and Director. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of North Texas, her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Oklahoma. While she now calls Texas her home, Marcy was born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Marcy and her husband, Brian, are blessed with two girls Aria (3) and Anna (1). While not at work, they enjoy raising their daughters, living an active lifestyle, and traveling with friends and family.
Gerri Elsing, CTSBS
Human Resources Generalist (Last Names M-Z)
Focus Areas: HR Liaison for Employees, Campuses, and Business Groups; Employment Offers and Contract Administration; New Hire Orientations; HR Documentation and Service Record Management; Employee Exits; Employment Law and Board Policy. Certifications Lead.
Background: Gerri is completing her 11th year in public education and has served as a Campus Receptionist, HR Position Control Specialist, and HR Generalist. Before becoming a part of education, she worked in the banking and telecommunication industries. She acquired her Associate of Arts in the Business Field of Study from Collin College and recently completed her Bachelor's Degree in Business - Human Resource Management. Originally from Oklahoma, Gerri and her husband, Larry Sr., moved to Texas in 1995. They are the proud parents of two. Their son Larry Jr., is an Eagle Scout and attended Collin College. Their daughter Kathryn is currently attending Stephen F. Austin University. While not working, Gerri enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and Bass fishing when she can!
Cheryl Perez, CTSBO
Focus Areas: Employee Benefits Administration, Retirement, Workers' Compensation, Unemployment, Sick Leave Bank and Leave Administration.
Background: Cheryl comes to Lovejoy ISD with over 20 years in education, including serving for 9 of those years on the ESC Region 11 Benefit Coop. She received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration and her teaching certifications in Math and Elementary Education. Her passion, however, is benefits! Whether you have questions about benefit plans, filing a claim, teacher retirement, or any number of things - her focus is on educating the employee so they can make informed decisions with confidence. Cheryl and her husband, Willy, love to travel with their two children, as well as with family and friends.
