Student / Teacher Internships

The Lovejoy Independent School District supports the growth and development of preservice educators, and embraces the opportunity to contribute to the education profession. Availability is limited and all requests should be made through the department of Human Resources.

Steps for Classroom Observation Hours Consideration:

- Review guidelines, standards, and professional conduct requirements
- Submit requests by the following deadlines to facilitate proper placement and scheduling:

Fall Semester - October 13, 2023

Spring Semester - March 15, 2024

- Complete a Volunteer Background Check.
- A background approval/denial email will be sent to you.
- Once approved, please forward this email showing you have been cleared to Human Resources. In your email, Include the observation hours you need to complete with the grade level(s) subjects of interest.
- Upon review, you will be notified of availability and/or next steps.

Steps for Clinical Internship (student teaching) Consideration:

- Review guidelines, standards, and professional conduct requirements.
- Submit requests by the following deadlines to facilitate proper placement and scheduling.
- Deadline for Requests:

Fall Semester - October 20, 2023

Spring Semester - March 22, 2024

- Complete a Volunteer Background Check.
- A background approval/denial email will be sent to you.
- Once approved, please forward this email showing you have been cleared to Human Resources. In your email, include the grade level(s) subjects of interest.
- Upon review, you will be notified of availability and placement.
