District Site Council

Integrated district and campus planning and decision making have been required under state law in Texas since 1990.  The make-up of the District Site Council is prescribed by law – with definitions for each “category.”  For instance, a district employee cannot serve as a parent on the committee; community members must reside in the district and be at least 18 years of age, but not a parent of a child enrolled in the district’s schools; business representatives do not have to live in the district, nor does their business have to be in the district, but they cannot be a parent.)
The major job of the District Site Council is to update the District Improvement Plan each year.  Each campus also has a Campus Improvement Plan which is aligned with the District Improvement Plan.
