Questions you should ask yourself:

When should I use an Approved Contract Vendor from the list?

The short answer is anytime your needs can be met with a vendor on the list! By using a contract and contacting the vendor to quote based upon the contract, you may expect to get a good price and know that the vendor will have consequences for poor performance. With that being said, you MUST use an Approved Contract Vendor once similar purchases (budgeted or actual) throughout the district total $50,000 for the July-June fiscal year.

So when should I get quotes?

Always! Vendors can and should be held to the pricing and conditions of delivery that is quoted, meaning no surprises for you. The MUST here is when you are making state or federal grant funded purchases, especially when no contract is available for use.
