Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction

Dennis Muizers is a champion for each Lovejoy student.  Dennis is honored to serve as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.  In this role Dennis has a covenant with each Lovejoy family and our entire community to ensure that the students of Lovejoy are lifted up to reach their full potential and experience excellence with every step of their educational journey.

During his twenty-seven years in public education Dennis has served as a teacher, coach, district coordinator, high school principal, and assistant superintendent with responsibilities ranging from curriculum, instruction, professional learning, employee selection/personnel, gifted/talented programs, advanced academics, instructional technology, and student assessment.

Dennis is starting his 15th year with the district and was blessed with the opportunity to be part of the team that created the secondary program in Lovejoy ISD.  Since 2005, Dennis has partnered with an amazing team to support continuous improvement of teaching, learning, and leadership within a caring, mission-driven, and collaborative culture.  The Lovejoy Core Values:  Kids Come First; Best Today, Better Tomorrow; and One Heart--One Lovejoy are values and commitments that Dennis strives to exemplify each day.

Dennis earned both a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).  Dennis earned his Texas Superintendent Certificate through the University of North Texas (UNT) as an original member of the Southwest Securities Distinguished Scholar Cohort.  Dennis is completing a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Educational Leadership from New Mexico State University.

Dennis has two wonderful sons, Cam and Cade.  His youngest son, Cade, is a member of the Lovejoy High School Class of 2020 and enjoys orchestra and theatre.  Dennis has had the tremendous joy of Cade being a Lovejoy Leopard since the age of four.  In addition to his calling to be an educator, Dennis finds happiness spending time with family, friends, and colleagues, reading, movies, music, bicycle riding and playing with Mylo his year old labradoodle.

I embrace and enjoy the daily calling of lifting up children and adults to pursue their potential and purpose.  I strive to continuously improve knowing that growth and learning are best realized with a curious mind, a collaborative spirit, and a servant heart.
