Substitute / Guest Educator Application
Steps to Become a Lovejoy ISD Guest Educator/Substitute
Thank you for your interest in Lovejoy ISD’s Guest Educator/Substitute program! We believe that, “There’s no substitute for a great Guest Educator!” Therefore, when a classroom teacher must be out, Lovejoy ISD’s Guest Educator programs are designed to maintain the highest quality of learning and continuity of care in our classrooms.
1. Application
Our current application types include:
-
- Guest Educator Application
- Nurse Substitute
- Little Lovejoy Scholars/Kids 1st Substitute (Coming Soon)
After your application is received it will be reviewed by our Employee Services team. Applications are reviewed and processed based on district need. Applicants selected to move forward will be contacted via Frontline Recuit & Hire (Applitrack) with additional interview instructions.
Applicants that complete the interview process and are recommended for hire with Lovejoy ISD will receive detailed instructions on how to complete the remaining Guest Educator onboarding requirements including:
2. Fingerprinting
(SB 9 requires submission of digital fingerprints for a criminal history review)
If you have not previously been fingerprinted for education purposes, you will receive an email from IdentoGO with instructions on scheduling a fingerprinting appointment. The cost of fingerprinting, approximately $50, is the responsibility of the Guest Educator/Substitute applicant.
3. Region 10 Training (Non-Certified only)
Guest Educators that do not hold a valid Texas teaching certificate must complete 3 online Region 10 Substitute Training courses OR a 1 day Region 10 In-Person training before they can become an approved substitute. These courses must be paid for by the Guest Educator, and are not eligible for reimbursement from the district. Certified teachers are permitted to bypass this training.
*If you choose to complete the coursework through the online option, please enroll in: Classroom Management, The Uniqueness of Students in Special Programs, and Strategies for Success.
