Allen, Texas – March 31, 2026 – Lovejoy ISD is proud to announce the Lovejoy ISD Board of Trustees has approved Ms. Heather Cox as the District’s next Chief Human Resources and Communications Officer.
Ms. Cox joined Lovejoy ISD in June 2023 and has since served the District with distinction as Director of Human Resources. She brings 23 years of experience in education, with a background that includes roles as a director, principal, assistant principal, and classroom teacher. In the seven years Ms. Cox served as an elementary school principal, she demonstrated strong instructional leadership and a deep commitment to student success.
“Ms. Cox is an exceptional leader who brings both deep experience and a genuine commitment to people. Her focus on building strong teams, supporting our staff, and keeping students at the center of every decision makes her the ideal choice for this role. We are confident she will continue to strengthen our district and serve Lovejoy ISD with excellence,” states Superintendent Kordel.
Complementing her extensive experience in education, Ms. Cox holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Tyler and a Master’s degree from Lamar University. She is married to her husband, Chris, and they share one grown son, Tyler, and love to spend time with their granddaughter, Kinley.
Highly respected for her dedication to recruiting, supporting, and retaining exceptional educators and staff, Ms. Cox remains focused on creating a positive and impactful student experience. Her ability to build strong, trusting relationships with all stakeholders is a defining strength.
Ms. Cox will assume the responsibilities of Chief Human Resources and Communications Officer in May 2026.
