Being a part of the Leopard family starts at LCDC. We loved welcoming the Majestics from Lovejoy High School to LCDC where they assisted with school arrival and read to our students, bringing smiles and school spirit to each class. Thank you, Majestics, for investing in our littlest Leopards!
All week our PreK 3 students enjoyed fiction and nonfiction books about forest animals, practiced counting and rhyming skills with songs and fingerplays and used blocks for building caves and dens. To end the week, students were given binoculars and went on a Bear Hunt in the garden area of our school. They loved looking for "clues" such as berries, footprints and even animals a bear might eat. Good news, no bears were spotted at LCDC! Our PreK 3 students had fun learning through intentional play and getting a chance to take the learning outdoors!

On Monday, February 9th the LISD Board of Trustees approved submitting a state waiver for missed school days on January 28 and 29, 2026 due to inclement weather.
After receiving Board approval, Lovejoy ISD applied for and has been granted a missed school state waiver; therefore, at this time, we will not have to attend school on the March 23 and April 6, 2026 bad weather make-up days.
We appreciate your patience while we completed the required processes to secure the waiver.
Wishing you a Happy Valentine’s and Presidents’ Day!
