Lovejoy ISD proudly celebrates the extraordinary accomplishments of its Robotics program following a historic performance at the VEX Robotics World Championship held April 21–24 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Lovejoy Robotics teams 1082E, 1082J, and 1082M earned invitations to compete at the prestigious international event after an outstanding season of competition and innovation. During the 2025–2026 season, more than 9,565 high school teams from over 50 countries competed worldwide, with only 867 teams qualifying for the World Championship. Lovejoy was honored to have three teams selected to compete among the best in the world.
At the World Championship, Team 1082M Meltdown made an alliance with 2145Z Pink Shinee Unicorns from Manassas, Virginia. Together they made an extraordinary tournament run, earning the title of Design Division World Champions and advancing to the Semifinal round as one of the top eight teams in the world!
Team 1082E Carbonated Potato also delivered an impressive performance, advancing to the Math Division Finals alongside alliance partner Team 9181C C-Channel from Delta, British Columbia, Canada.
The collective success of Team 1082M Meltdown and Team 1082E Carbonated Potato marked a historic milestone for Lovejoy, representing the first time in program history that Lovejoy Robotics advanced to the Divisional Finals at the VEX Robotics World Championship. The achievement was made even more remarkable as both teams advanced on the same day in separate divisions.
Lovejoy High School’s international recognition continued with Team 1082J Jumbo Shrimp receiving the Inspire Award in the Opportunity Division. This prestigious award recognizes the most well-rounded team in the division, one that excels not just in competition, but in engineering process, professionalism, and the spirit of the program itself. Team 1082J Jumbo Shrimp is one of only four teams in Lovejoy history to have earned a judged award at VEX World Championships.
Lovejoy ISD is incredibly proud of its Robotics students, teachers, and coaches for their dedication, innovation, and teamwork throughout the season. The district also extends heartfelt gratitude to the parents and families whose support helps make these achievements possible.
