Well.....That's a wrap for semester 1 at WSMS!! Exams are all finished, and students & staff are all ready to enjoy the holidays with family and friends! We wish every one of our Lovejoy families a safe and restful break! See you next year!!! #2025bestisyet2come

Break? What break? Students at WSMS are still rolling along!! Last week was busy with performances & learning. Choir, band, & orchestra all sang and played us into the holiday season. 🎶8th grade science was classifying stars for an ADI learning experience. Art students used candy to create cool still life pictures. TX History students expressed their Texas know-how in the form of ugly Christmas sweaters! 🤓 And WSMS teachers began planning for next semester! But, the piece de resistance was Friday’s face pie of Mr. Lewis to celebrate 7th grade’s win for the least amount of absences challenge! Now, it's on to conquering semester exams! GO LEOPARDS!

Even as the holiday break approaches, there is no shortage of learning & FUN going on at WSMS! History classes engage their brains with a round of “fact or fib”. Math scale factor practice = festive holiday decor! ⛄️ Science classes deck the hallways with their knowledge of Newtons Laws in Systems. Our dance & color guard teams strut their stuff at the Winter Pom performance, and UIL begins its preparations for a big win in the spring!

Even as WSMS enters the holiday season, there's no slowing down! Our students participated in the school spelling bee and helped our Veterans and active service members for Veterans Day! Spanish students honored loved ones with their tribute boxes on De Los Muertos.
WSMS would like to express our deep gratitude to our supportive parents, tireless staff, and hard working, energetic students! WSMS, there's no better place.

We look forward to seeing our students and staff when school resumes on Monday, December 2nd. #OneHeartOneLovejoy

It's been a busy few weeks here at WSMS! Students celebrated Red Ribbon Week, pledging to stay away from drugs! Our Art 1 students were hard at work with clay, and our cheerleaders helped welcome the athletes participating in the Special Olympics held earlier this week. Great things going on this fall at WSMS!

This week was so full of FUN and learning! Our photography students went to the Dallas Arboretum to grab some beautiful fall pictures and practice their skills. WSMS cross country athletes are running into success and science classes are calculating speed. Mrs. Viz supported our volleyball players over fall break, and our teachers attended mentor training as they support each other's professional growth. We are staying STRONG as we conquer the fall semester!

WSMS dress up days for Red Ribbon Week!

Beware of the monsters in Willow Springs Library! Students at Willow Springs are enjoying a library micro:bit monster hunt activity. Students use specially coded pocket-sized computers to search the library for a hidden "Monster". The micro:bits are coded as beacons and receivers; the receiver lights up as students get close to the beacon. The students are all very interested in how it works. This is a great activity to help students learn how coding, software and hardware work together!

7th grade math classes were using our beautiful weather this week, measuring shadows to determine scale factor and calculate height of objects! Then, in 7th grade science they investigated speed by rolling a tennis ball down a huge ramp! Lots of hands on learning going on here at WSMS! We topped the week off with a win for our volleyball teams & the PALS students honoring Mrs. Eldredge for Principal Appreciation! We have the BEST principal "Among Us"!!!😁
