The Lovejoy High School Majestics Dance Officers closed out their season with an incredible showing at the American Dance/Drill Team Nationals at the University of North Texas—finishing among the top two officer groups in the nation!

🏆 Highlights:
• Officer Pop – National Champions
• Officer Lyrical – 1st Runner-Up
• Officer Contemporary – 1st Runner-Up
• Officer Jazz – 3rd Runner-Up

The team also earned:
✨ Medium High School National Champion Officers – 1st Runner-Up
✨ Best of the Best Officers – 1st Runner-Up (all divisions)

🎶 Outstanding Achievement for WSMS Orchestras! 🎶

The Willow Springs Middle School Concert, Philharmonic, Symphonic, and Chamber Orchestras earned the highest possible distinction at the UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation on March 12!

All four ensembles received superior ratings from every judge, securing Sweepstakes Awards for excellence in both concert performance and sight-reading.

From performing three prepared pieces to mastering a brand-new work in just minutes, these students demonstrated incredible talent, discipline, and musicianship. The Symphonic and Chamber Orchestras even performed at a high school level—an impressive accomplishment!

Judges praised the groups for their passion, confidence, and musical maturity, noting their ability to truly bring music to life.

Calling all future Leopards!! Hart and Puster Elementary Schools invite parents and rising kinders to our 2026 Kindergarten Sneak Peek on Thursday, April 9th from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. During the event, students will rotate through activities in kinder classes, while parents receive kindergarten information from campus administrators.

Last Friday, Lovejoy defeated Whitehouse 5-0 in the bi-district round, highlighted by a hat trick from Ella York. The team followed it up Tuesday night with a 2-1 win over Frisco Lone Star in the area round, with goals from Ella York and Kinley Short.

At the THSWPA State Meet in Edinburg this past weekend, two Lovejoy women’s powerlifters delivered standout performances.

Senior Teni Segun made program history, earning Lovejoy’s first individual State Championship in powerlifting. Competing in the 148 lb weight class, she totaled an incredible 1,050 lbs, including a top overall deadlift of 435 lbs.

Sophomore Harper Smith also had a strong showing, placing 7th overall in the state (un-equipped division) with a 740 lb total.

Lovejoy Powerlifting is coached by Chris Smith and Brandon Murdock.
