Lovejoy Vocational Exploration students stopped by the Superintendent’s office this week to spread some holiday cheer! 🎄 These LHS seniors are exploring career paths and building essential skills as they prepare for life beyond high school. Their visit was a joyful reminder of the bright futures ahead for our students.
Lovejoy ISD will begin Holiday Break on Friday, December 19, with students and staff returning on Wednesday, January 7. Campus and district offices will be closed during the break.

⛳️🐆 Senior Jordan Wheelis had an outstanding showing at the Leopard Fall Classic, shooting an 84 in Round 1 and recording her first-ever hole-in-one on Hole 16! Her incredible shot helped keep the Leopards on the leaderboard, finishing 2nd overall against strong area competition. #LovejoyProud

Thank you to our artists, families, and friends who joined us to celebrate the Annual K–12 Visual Art Evolution Exhibit. It was a wonderful evening of creativity, connection, and community as students shared their work from all five campuses.
We are grateful to our LJVA staff and Gallery Managers for creating and curating an incredible showcase of student growth and to our Lovejoy Orchestra for their beautiful musical accompaniment.
It was a truly memorable night, and we can’t wait to see what our artists create next semester! 🎨

🚗📘 Real-World Reading in Action!
English II students took on an authentic literacy experience by analyzing the Texas Driver’s Handbook to explore text structure. From headings and charts to graphs and organizational patterns, students learned how informational texts are designed to support understanding — while connecting their skills to something they’ll use in real life as future drivers.
Through active discussion and collaboration, students sharpened critical reading strategies that build confidence both in the classroom and beyond!
🎁 Lovejoy Orchestras Share the Joy of Giving!
Led by LHS Orchestra Ambassadors, students and families from SCIS, WSMS, and LHS came together to collect toys, household essentials, and holiday treats for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas during the Joy of Giving Gift Drive.
This incredible organization provides a home-away-from-home for families with children receiving medical treatment at local hospitals, offering housing, meals, and support during some of their most challenging moments.
Pictured are Ambassador Captains Audrey Casey and Lucy Crites with the generous donations gathered by our community. We are so proud of our orchestra students and families for showing true compassion and leadership this holiday season. 💫

Our stakeholder-based Bond Implementation Committee kicked off its first meeting! The group engaged in thoughtful, collaborative discussion as we prepared for the implementation of our 2025 bond funds. We are excited to begin this important work that will positively impact every student and every campus across Lovejoy ISD.

🤖 Lovejoy Robotics Shines Before Thanksgiving Break! 🤖
Our teams had an incredible weekend competing at two tournaments — the Speedway Signature Event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Garland Tournament locally — showing off their hard work, teamwork, and determination!
🏁 Speedway (Indianapolis):
Teams 1082E, J, M & W faced tough competition on a national stage. 1082M & 1082E advanced together to the Quarterfinals, while 1082J teamed up with 2140D Pepto Bismol (Michigan) and narrowly missed advancing after an intense match decided by only 2 points against the tournament finalists. Incredible performances all around!
🏆 Garland Tournament:
Teams 1082N, T, U & V competed locally with great success:
1082U earned the Judges Award
1082N advanced to the Semifinals
1082V & 1082T reached the elimination rounds
A huge thank you to our parent volunteers who traveled and supported our teams — especially those who made the Speedway trip possible — and to Coach Gaddie for leading the Garland teams in her first away tournament solo, with amazing support from local parent volunteers. We truly can’t do this without our incredible Lovejoy Robotics family!
