At the THSWPA State Meet in Edinburg this past weekend, two Lovejoy women’s powerlifters delivered standout performances.

Senior Teni Segun made program history, earning Lovejoy’s first individual State Championship in powerlifting. Competing in the 148 lb weight class, she totaled an incredible 1,050 lbs, including a top overall deadlift of 435 lbs.

Sophomore Harper Smith also had a strong showing, placing 7th overall in the state (un-equipped division) with a 740 lb total.

Lovejoy Powerlifting is coached by Chris Smith and Brandon Murdock.

Another Strong Week for Lady Leopard Track & Field 🐆

The Lady Leopards had an incredible week, setting numerous personal records and showcasing their strength, toughness, and resilience on the track. The team captured a commanding team victory at the Wylie Invitational on Thursday, followed by strong performances from our mid-distance and distance runners at the Lovejoy Spring Distance Festival on Saturday.

The Leopards are back in action this Friday at the McKinney meet.

Lovejoy Robotics had an outstanding showing at the 2026 VEX Texas Region 5 High School Championship, with multiple teams earning top honors and securing spots at the VEX Robotics World Championship.

Team 1082E was crowned Tournament Champion and also earned the Innovate Award for their exceptional performance, strategy, and teamwork.
Team 1082M received the prestigious Design Award, recognizing excellence in the engineering design process and the strength of their engineering notebook and robot design.
Team 1082J finished as Tournament Finalist and captured the Create Award for innovative engineering solutions, qualifying them for the VEX Robotics World Championship.
Team 1082N also competed with determination, finishing 4–4 in qualification matches and advancing to elimination rounds.

With these achievements, three Lovejoy Robotics teams will advance to the VEX Robotics World Championship in St. Louis this April.

Congratulations to our students, coaches, and supporters on this incredible accomplishment.

🎻 Lovejoy Symphony Orchestra Showcase – March 9

The Lovejoy High School Symphony Orchestra will present a special showcase performance on Monday, March 9 at 6:30 PM in the LHS Auditorium.

This collaborative ensemble brings together members of the LHS Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, creating a full symphonic experience that highlights the depth of talent within Lovejoy’s Fine Arts program. Students will perform masterworks by Dmitri Shostakovich and Jean Sibelius, demonstrating exceptional artistry, precision, and dedication.

The performance will last approximately 30 minutes and promises to be a powerful display of teamwork and musical excellence.
