Set in southern Indiana during the early 1930s, the story follows young Buddy and his unlikely friendship with C.C. Showers, a disenchanted traveling preacher who takes a job with the boy’s father. The town has been without a church for more than a decade, and his presence stirs both hope and suspicion among its people. As Showers bonds with Buddy, a young boy longing for guidance, the community learns he has abandoned preaching, shattering their expectations and setting the stage for the tragic events that follow.

Lovejoy ISD’s Varsity Football Game has been relocated to Anna ISD’s Coyote Stadium due to an Oncor equipment power outage at Lovejoy High School and Leopard Stadium. Oncor has estimated power restoration to be 7:30 p.m.
Due to the uncertainty surrounding power restoration, Lovejoy and Anna have collectively decided to move the game, and Anna ISD graciously offered to host.
