🎣 Leopard Fishing Delivers at the 2026 THSBA State Championship 🎣

Leopard Fishing proudly represented Lovejoy ISD at the Texas High School Bass Association State Championship on Lake Texoma, competing against 185 boats from 110 high schools across Texas. After qualifying among the top teams in the North/West/Metro Region, Lovejoy sent four teams to the state tournament.

Despite challenging conditions, three of Lovejoy’s four teams brought fish to the scales, demonstrating adaptability, determination, and resilience throughout the two-day competition.

A special congratulations goes to Owen Quinland and Nick Rowe, who finished 14th in the State of Texas with a two-day total of 22.85 pounds. After sitting in 21st place following Day 1, the duo steadily climbed the leaderboard to earn scholarship money and sponsor awards. Their outstanding season also earned them a spot in the elite THSBA Angler of the Year Tournament on Lake Tyler later this month.

The Lovejoy Leopards advanced to the Regional Semifinals following a successful Round 3 playoff series against Corsicana High School. Lovejoy will face Midlothian Heritage High School in Round 4 of the UIL Baseball Playoffs, with all games scheduled to be played at Jesuit High School.

Regional Semifinal Schedule:

The Lovejoy Visual Art program is excited to announce the opening of the 18th annual LJVA AP Studio Art Exhibition on May 16th from 5 - 9! We cannot wait to share this wonderfully diverse and thoughtful collection of work with our community. The range of approaches, processes, and creativity behind these artists' work is a beautiful testament to the legacy of Lovejoy Visual Arts.

Please join us Saturday, May 16th, from 5 - 9 pm to honor these artists and their work while gaining insight into their personal investigation and ideation. At the exhibition, you have the opportunity to meet the artists, hear about their work and process, and purchase available artwork. We are also excited to invite you to participate in our yearly charity auction of original work benefitting the Vogel Alcove, a non-profit organization on a mission to help young children overcome the lasting and devastating effects of homelessness. The Lovejoy Visual Art program strongly believes in using our gifts to give back to our larger community and would love for you to join us in this yearly tradition.
