LHS Student Council has been recognized by the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) as an elite, comprehensive student leadership organization, earning the prestigious Sweepstakes Award.
This honor reflects an exceptional commitment to service, leadership, and impact across campus and the community. To achieve Sweepstakes, councils must first be named an Outstanding Student Council and earn superior ratings in every project category, including community service, safety and health awareness, patriotism, and environmental initiatives.
Only about 20% of member schools reach this level of distinction, making this achievement even more impressive.
Way to lead the way, Leopards! ❤️🖤

From dedicated parents to generous community members, your impact is felt in every hallway, classroom, and campus event. Whether you’re working behind the scenes or showing up day after day for our students and staff, you help create the exceptional experience that defines Lovejoy.
Because of you, our students are supported, our teachers are uplifted, and our community is stronger.
Thank you for being such an essential part of the Leopard family! We are grateful for you this week and always!

Lovejoy High School’s Varsity Mixed, Varsity Treble, and Junior Varsity Treble Choirs delivered standout performances at the UIL Region 25 Concert and Sight-Reading Contest.
All three ensembles earned straight Superior ratings from all six judges, securing Sweepstakes honors for excellence in both concert performance and sight-reading.
Performing challenging a cappella selections in German, Latin, Czech, and English, students demonstrated exceptional tone, blend, and musicianship. In sight-reading, each group performed a brand new piece with only minutes to prepare, showcasing their skill and focus.
Judges praised the choirs’ vocal quality, noting their “mature approach” and strong musicality throughout even the most difficult passages.
So proud of these talented Leopards 👏🎤

Students are diving into novels of their choice and teaming up with peers to share ideas, ask questions, and spark meaningful conversations. Each week, they come ready to build on one another’s thinking while strengthening their speaking and listening skills.
From analyzing characters and themes to exploring an author’s craft, these student-led discussions are sharpening critical thinking and making learning more engaging.
Most importantly, students are discovering the joy of reading when they have choice and ownership in the process.
