Our stakeholder-based Bond Implementation Committee kicked off its first meeting! The group engaged in thoughtful, collaborative discussion as we prepared for the implementation of our 2025 bond funds. We are excited to begin this important work that will positively impact every student and every campus across Lovejoy ISD.

🤖 Lovejoy Robotics Shines Before Thanksgiving Break! 🤖
Our teams had an incredible weekend competing at two tournaments — the Speedway Signature Event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Garland Tournament locally — showing off their hard work, teamwork, and determination!
🏁 Speedway (Indianapolis):
Teams 1082E, J, M & W faced tough competition on a national stage. 1082M & 1082E advanced together to the Quarterfinals, while 1082J teamed up with 2140D Pepto Bismol (Michigan) and narrowly missed advancing after an intense match decided by only 2 points against the tournament finalists. Incredible performances all around!
🏆 Garland Tournament:
Teams 1082N, T, U & V competed locally with great success:
1082U earned the Judges Award
1082N advanced to the Semifinals
1082V & 1082T reached the elimination rounds

Students strengthened their comprehension skills by focusing on plot elements. After reviewing classroom data, Mrs. Burkhart taught a targeted mini-lesson on plot mountain, then students applied their learning by reading independently and jotting evidence from their books.
She also pulled small groups for focused support, helping students connect the lesson to their own texts.
