That’s a wrap on 3 rewarding days of collaboration with the Stakeholder Strategic Planning Committee! Today’s session brought our work full circle as stakeholders reviewed feedback, examined the SWOT summary, and engaged in thoughtful dialogue around the draft plan. Through gallery walks, dot voting, and structured input protocols educators, parents, and community members helped refine priorities and identify next steps for the future of Lovejoy ISD. The work continues, but today marked an important milestone in the journey in our strategic planning process. #KidsCome1st #OneHeartOneLovejoy #BestTodayBetterTomorrow #StrategicPlanning #LegacyOfExcellence 🐆💡♥️

Strategic Planning
Last night, Superintendent Kordel had the privilege of engaging with our teachers at the Teacher-Superintendent Connection Council. Teacher feedback is shaping Lovejoy’s strategic plan into a future-focused roadmap that reflects our shared priorities. Today, we continue the work as we meet with our stakeholder committee to review the drafted plan and gather additional perspectives. Collaboration like this shapes our vision and represents our entire Lovejoy community. Thank you, teachers, for your voice and your leadership, and stay tuned as we move one step closer to Lovejoy’s strategic plan!#LovejoyISD #StrategicPlanning

This week, the Leadership Lovejoy Class of 2026 experienced the full K-12 journey with visits to Hart Elementary School and Lovejoy High School!🐆♥️At Hart, participants saw learning in action, from structured literacy in 1st grade and problem-solving in 4th grade math to the kindergarten reading block. The morning also highlighted student leadership through the Hart Ambassador and Buddy Program, showcasing how leadership begins early in Lovejoy ISD. The day concluded at Lovejoy High School with tours of the Robotics program, Visual Arts Gallery, and the Competition Gym, along with powerful conversations with student leaders, fine arts and athletics. Leadership Lovejoy participants continue to gain meaningful, firsthand insight into what makes Lovejoy ISD so special. We are excited to return to school tomorrow!  Classes will begin at their regularly scheduled times. Our maintenance, grounds, and custodial staff have been working diligently to inspect buildings, clear entry points and sidewalks, and prepare campuses for our students and teachers. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and hard work.

In order to facilitate a safe return to school, we have a few weather reminders:

❄️ Students should be prepared for cold and possibly wet weather by dressing warmly and wearing a coat.
❄️ We ask parents and students to build extra time into your morning commute.
❄️ Parking lots may still be slick, please exercise extra caution in carlines.
❄️ Please be patient with parents and staff as carlines may run slower than normal.
❄️ If your child rides the bus, we encourage you to monitor bus stops.
❄️ Bus transportation travel times may be slower than usual. Our drivers will make every attempt to complete their routes in a timely manner, but traveling safely will be their top priority.

Governor Abbott declared a state of emergency prior to the winter storm impacting the state and Lovejoy ISD will begin the process of pursuing a waiver for the missed school days which includes approval by the Texas Education Agency. If the waiver is approved, students will not be required to make up the missed days. If the waiver is not approved, March 23 and April 6 will be used as bad weather make-up days and will be regular school days.

We appreciate your patience and partnership as our hard-working teachers, bus drivers, operations team members, and administrators work to provide a safe return to school tomorrow.

Stay safe and warm, Lovejoy
