Lovejoy ISD can fund all of the projects in the 2025 bond using the existing I&S tax rate of $0.50 per $100 of property value.

In collaboration with the City of Lucas, the Lovejoy High School Student-Superintendent Connection Council engaged in an immersive City Council Meeting simulation. Lovejoy High School students stepped confidently into key municipal roles—from Mayor and Council Members to City Secretary, City Manager, Fire Chief, and Traffic Study Consultants—bringing both realism and rigor to the experience. They not only embraced their responsibilities with professionalism and insight, but also demonstrated a remarkable commitment to understanding the workings of local government. Whether it was learning the protocols of public meeting notices, conducting traffic impact analysis, or facilitating dialogue among "elected officials" and "citizens," our students brought this simulation to life in powerful and thoughtful ways. UPDATE 10:18 AM: The power has been restored at all Lovejoy ISD campuses and facilities.
The District administration building, LCDC and Sloan Creek Intermediate School are experiencing power outages caused by the current weather conditions.
