Thanks to Mr. Pettit's generosity and commitment to our community, every student received a packet of wildflower seeds to plant at home, and our teachers were treated to Starbucks gift cards! This morning, Board President Barrett Owens, Vice President Jeff Wood, Legislative Subcommittee Chair Jason Jaynes, Superintendent Katie Kordel, and District Staff, spent productive time at the State Capitol meeting with legislators to champion for the students of Lovejoy ISD. Discussions focused on critical issues including student safety and school finance. We are incredibly grateful to our Board of Trustees, who continue to dedicate their time and energy to supporting the needs of Lovejoy. The 2025 Lovejoy ISD Bond Package will update or replace major operational systems at all existing campuses and facilities. Some projects, such as LED lighting upgrades and HVAC replacement, will save an estimated $300,000 dollars annually in M&O expenses once the projects are fully implemented.
