We are #LovejoyProud to celebrate Ms. Anjie Lindblom during National School Social Worker Week, March 3-8th! School Social Workers are trained mental health professionals with a degree in social work who provide services related to a person's social, emotional and life adjustment to school. School Social Workers are the link between the home, school and community in providing direct as well as indirect services to students, families and school personnel to promote and support students' academic and social success. We are incredibly grateful for the resources Ms. Lindblom provides to our students, their families, and our teachers. #TeamLovejoy #OneHeartOneLovejoy

Lovejoy ISD is fortunate to have outstanding educational diagnosticians that serve students across our district. Please join us in celebrating: Jaime Willman, Crystal Lusk, Shannon Wyrick, Diane Walters, Cheri Allen. Educational diagnosticians undergo specialized training to use academic and psychological tests to assess students suspected of disabilities, isolate factors that could enhance students' performance in the classroom, and prepare formal evaluation reports. Diagnosticians provide information to ARD Committee meetings and assist special and general education teachers by developing and recommending strategies and materials.

The Lovejoy High School Student-Superintendent Connection Council took an educational trip to the George W. Bush Presidential Museum in Dallas! 🚌 🇺🇸This experience was part of the Council’s continued focus on leadership. Students had the opportunity to explore the themes of leadership and decision-making. Through interactive displays and historical artifacts, students were able to delve into the complexities of leadership during times of national and international crisis. Aligned with LOVEJOY 2030 Strategic Target 2.1.1, this trip supported our commitment to provide learning experiences that foster a growth mindset and develop future leaders. This week, Board President Barrett Owens, Vice President Jeff Wood, and Legislative Subcommittee Chair Jason Jaynes, Rodricka Taylor, and Superintendent Katie Kordel dedicated time at the State Capitol to meet with legislators to discuss the Board’s legislative priorities, the needs of our District and the challenges we are facing. 🏀 Lovejoy Leopards Boys Basketball Season Recap 🏀 What an incredible season for the Lovejoy Leopards, finishing with a 28-6 record! After a tough one-point loss to Walnut Grove, the team bounced back with 13 straight district wins, clinching the district title. They extended their streak to 15 games before a hard-fought 44-41 loss to Hallsville in the Bi-District playoffs. Huge congratulations to our players for their all-district honors: -Tate Ziemkiewicz – Offensive Player of the Year 🏅 -Luke Modersohn & Maddox Johnson – 1st Team All-District -Pierce Patel & Alex Cheatham – 2nd Team All-District -Luke Lytle – All-Defensive Team A special shoutout to Coach Wes Watson and his staff for being named District 9-5A Coaching Staff of the Year! 🎉

This week, the Majestics teamed up with Feed My Starving Children to pack meals for kids in Peru! 🌍 They packed 109 boxes, providing 23,544 servings—enough to feed 64 children for a year.
