We’re excited to welcome students and families back to school tomorrow! Please keep these important traffic reminders in mind as we kick off the 2025–2026 school year:
🔸 Plan for extra drive time – Expect heavier traffic and longer carpool lines during arrival and dismissal. Carlines will run more smoothly after the first couple weeks of school.
🔸 Bus routes may run slower – Both morning and afternoon routes may take additional time as routines are established.
🔸 Review your campus traffic plan – Arrival and dismissal procedures may have changed since last year. Check your campus-specific plan to stay updated.
🚧⚠️ TXDOT Update: Bait Shop Intersection Traffic Changes ⚠️🚧
Lovejoy ISD received notification this evening from TXDOT regarding traffic pattern changes at the Bait Shop intersection. It is understood that beginning tonight, (Wednesday, August 6), certain sections of the newly constructed roadway will be opened.
Our transportation team is aware and adjusting routes accordingly. Please be aware that these changes, along with the usual back-to-school traffic, may cause delays for buses and carpool lines.
Let’s kick off the 2025–2026 school year safely and smoothly by showing extra patience and grace as everyone settles into new routines. We appreciate your support and partnership! 🐆🎒
