Communicating with the Board

Citizens wishing to contact the school board regarding suggestions, concerns and complaints in reference to a specific school, department, teacher or child, are encouraged to begin at the level closest to the concern. The appropriate steps are as follows:

Step 1: Contact the Staff Member
The most direct route to resolving a concern is to confer directly with the person involved (teacher, coach, etc.). The majority of concerns are resolved by a conversation between those involved.

Step 2: Contact the Campus Administrator
The campus principal and assistant principal(s) are responsible for the operation of their school. Explanations of policies and procedures and various clarifications are available in campus administration offices.

Step 3: Contact a Central Office Administrator
A Central Office Administrator may be one of the administrators listed below. This step should be taken only if steps one and two have not resolved the concern.
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction

Executive Director of Human Resources and Communications

Chief Financial Officer

Executive Director of Student Services

Executive Director of District Support Services

Step 4: Contact the School Board
The Lovejoy Independent School Board of Trustees should be contacted only if steps one through three have not resolved the concern.
