Lovejoy ISD enters contracts for many of the purchases made on the district's behalf. These contracts may be initiated by the district, another school district with similar needs, or by a cooperative purchasing group. (See the right side bar for links.)
Once Lovejoy ISD enters a contract, or elects to use a cooperative contract, the vendor is added to Lovejoy ISD's APPROVED VENDOR list for use by Lovejoy ISD staff. (Viewable from the Staff Resources page.)
When the District takes the lead on our own process, we notify suppliers of bid opportunities using the Lovejoy ISD eBid System. With this system, the supplier community has the ability to register online to receive notification of potential business opportunities with Lovejoy ISD. When registering, suppliers select the desired commodities and services to be informed of upcoming formal bids, proposals and related addenda.
If you are not already registered as a potential supplier, you are encouraged to REGISTER in the Lovejoy ISD eBid System
, a free service to the supplier community and the primary source to obtain Lovejoy ISD formal bid information.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Suppliers registering in Lovejoy's eBid System will automatically receive notifications of bid opportunities on the commodity categories that they select but will NOT attain APPROVED VENDOR status unless and until a contract is awarded to the supplier and used by Lovejoy ISD.
In the event of unforeseen District closure on the date of a bid opening (for inclement weather or other reasons), the bid opening will be held at the same time on the first date the District reopens for business following the closure. Notification of Lovejoy ISD closures are published through local news media and on the Red Ledger page of the website, http://theredledger.net/
Legal notices are also published in the publication of record, The Celina Record
, a Star Local Media newspaper. The Celina Record and the Lovejoy ISD eBid System both serve as authorized sources of notification of the District's bid opportunities.
Potential bidders assume responsibility for receipt of notification and information from any source other than those listed. It shall be the vendor’s responsibility to verify the validity of all bid information received by an alternate source.
Many purchases made by the District are through various Purchasing Cooperatives. (Follow the link to view a list. Then visit the sites of cooperatives that you would like to participate as a vendor.)
